Most common procedures for Dr. Marotta

Dr. Marotta says that the most common procedures he performs in his practice are facelifts, blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty. As a facial plastic surgeon, his specialty is in the face so he does all plastic surgery from the clavicles up. He says it falls into two categories, facial proportion which is the younger patient who maybe has a nose that is disproportionate to their face or too small or large for their face, or maybe cheeks or chin are an issue so volumizing those areas. The other category is facial rejuvenation surgery. These are patients who are aging and they don’t like the way they look so they want eyelid surgery, forehead lifts, facelifts, and things like that.

PACT: the core values of Dr. Marotta’s practice

Dr. Marotta is very upfront with patients about the core values of his practice. What is PACT all about and why is this so important to James and why should it be important to his patients? He says PACT was developed to give employees guidance as to how they should approach any situation or decision with regard to their professional life here in the practice. The acronym stands for:

P – Patient-Centric Model

A – Attitude Is Everything

C – Commitment To Care

T – Team Players Are A-Players

Listen to the episode to hear Dr. Moratta share how these values set a standard for patients and help his employees to maintain that standard while keeping things running smoothly in all aspects of the business.

Who should read You’re Not A Vanity Purchase?

The audience and inspiration for the book were the patients James deals with on a daily basis. He’s been doing this for 16 years and has heard people tell him time and time again how they wrestle with guilt and decision-making over plastic surgery. They may be feeling like they’re making a vanity purchase, doing something that’s taboo or wrong, or they feel nervous about the results or feel nervous about being criticized for the decision to pursue plastics. It’s a book for those people who are wrestling with their decision to have a procedure or not have a procedure and help them negotiate the reasons why it’s more than just such a vanity purchase.
