What is the Going Beyond Movement?
Randi says that going beyond every single day is a choice. The way that we show up, the way that we can commit to the practices that make us a better person—whatever that is for you—are a daily choice. We can easily be beaten down, unproductive, and have negative habits. We can feel like we’re a victim to many things if we want or choose to. The going beyond movement is a space to be in connection with daily motivation, a community that is on the same page as you, and a reminder that you can go beyond whatever titles or perceived limitations our society may have placed upon you. We’re limitless, but to believe in that is difficult. To have the knowledge and the toolkit at your fingertips to make those daily moves can be a challenge.
Randi didn’t want it to feel that in order to be your best you had to wake up every day and go at it alone. She doesn’t want you to have to look far to find the tools that you need. Her commitment—particularly in 2020, because she felt like the true voice of her brand came alive during a very difficult time—was to offer these things wholeheartedly to her community. Randi explains that going beyond means building muscles that may have previously been weak.
A Going Beyond mindset
How do you think mindset comes into play for achieving your goals and going beyond? How much emphasis needs to be put on that? Randi is convinced mindset is everything! But the misconception about mindset is that people think that it just exists. That it’s suddenly just there. It’s not like that. Mindset is a muscle, like any other muscle. If you have a weak bicep, you pick up a dumbbell a couple of times a week, you keep doing it and it gets stronger. It’s no different for your mindset. What are you doing to create a strong mindset? What are you putting into your mind? Who are you talking to? What are you listening to? What are you reading? Where are you investing your energy? We have choices every single day as to what we let into our minds. There’s no one answer. It’s an incredibly intuitive experience. Randi shares some great examples of what this looks like in the episode, go listen!
Tips for women who are juggling family and career
One of the things that Randi offers to help people feel a little less anxiety, is to give yourself ways to capture your ideas right at the moment. A lot of women have an idea, it’s this, it’s this, it’s this, but they don’t know what to do with it or when. Randi suggests writing it down, have a sacred journal, or a document on your computer or phone, whatever, but write it, write it, write it. You will take at least 50% of the anxiety off your shoulders because the fear is that you’ll forget. You’re not going to forget if you write it down and then you remove that fear and in turn the anxiety associated with it/
Additionally, Randi shares that women often feel very depleted so they have to continue to nurture themselves. It’s important to keep certain juices flowing in your brain, whatever that is for each of us, we have to find those little bits. It doesn’t take a lot. We don’t need our entire day to be all about our dreams. But if we have a little bit, it keeps us going, keeps us moving forward. So write the ideas down and nurture those parts of you that need that fuel and you will see that all is not lost and the journey continues on.
