Mitlin is overJOYed to Celebrate Larry Sprung as an InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planner 2026
We are overJOYed to share that Larry Sprung has been recognized as one of the InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planners 2026.
This honor celebrates financial planners who set a high standard for excellence through integrity, innovation, and measurable impact in helping clients pursue their financial goals.
For all of us at Mitlin Financial, this recognition means a great deal because it reflects the work Larry has always believed matters most, helping people align their financial lives with what matters most to them.
At Mitlin, that starts with one simple question: What did you do today that brought you joy?®
That question sits at the heart of our brand and our planning philosophy. It opens deeper conversations, helps families think beyond numbers alone, and creates a more personal path forward built around real goals and real life. That JOY-based approach is central to how Mitlin serves.
What the InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planners Award Recognizes
The InvestmentNews 5-Star Financial Planners awards recognize professionals who consistently demonstrate excellence in the financial planning profession. According to the program description, the recognition honors planners who show integrity, innovation, and measurable client impact while helping clients work toward their financial goals.
A survey was conducted nationwide and sought nominations for financial professionals who exemplify excellence, integrity, and dedication based on achievements over the prior 12 months.
That makes this recognition especially meaningful. It highlights not only professional knowledge, but also the quality of service, leadership, and care that shape the client experience.
Why This Recognition Matters to the Mitlin Team
Anyone who knows Larry knows this recognition is about far more than credentials or titles.
It reflects years of commitment to serving families with thoughtfulness, personal attention, and a planning process built around each client’s unique vision for the future.
At Mitlin, the goal is not to force every client into the same template. The goal is to help people define their version of JOY, then build a roadmap to support it. That client-first planning promise is woven throughout how the firm communicates, advises, and builds long-term relationships.
Mitlin’s process begins with understanding what matters most to the people and families it serves. From there, the team helps align all areas of financial life through a personalized plan designed in plain English. That philosophy has helped shape the firm’s identity and continues to guide the work Larry and the team do every day.
A Personal Approach to Financial Planning
Financial planning is personal. It touches family, values, goals, tradeoffs, and the future people want to create.
That is why Mitlin believes the best planning starts with listening.
The JOY-centered approach has helped create deeper conversations with clients and prospective clients, going beyond standard personal finance topics to better understand true desires and motivations. In many ways, that is what makes the Mitlin experience different. It is not only about investments, retirement, or cash flow. It is about helping clients connect their resources to a life they want to live.
This recognition from InvestmentNews speaks to the impact of that work.
