Why Ryan is passionate about the work being done at Carson Group
Ryan wanted to work closely with advisors and their clients, create content, and revolutionize the industry. Ryan has been at Carson Group for a month and feels privileged to be there and make an impact. He wants to create content that tells stories to help people understand what’s really happening with their money. Ryan is excited about working with high-caliber people and building the best investment research firm in the industry.
Ryan believes the RIA space is a fit for him because he likes to help people. He wants to wake up every day, believe in what he’s doing, help advisors, and create cool content. Being at Carson Group allows him to get back to what makes him happy.
Why Ryan thinks it’s important to make commentary for investors fun
Ryan strives to make market commentary fun and engaging. Market commentaries usually cover what’s happened. But Ryan wants to create forward-looking commentary, i.e., “This just happened—what could it mean?” It’s fun to forecast and share why it matters. What does it mean to your investments? To the economy?
Ryan likes to have fun. He’s not a boring strategist. It’s about telling a story to help people understand what’s happening—so they aren’t bored out of their minds. You can frame things in a way that’s easy to understand and light-hearted whenever possible. Keeping things fun not only builds trust and helps you connect on a personal level, but it makes it more memorable.
How Ryan believes wealth management will shift over the next few years
Ryan believes that the industry is consolidating. That’s why you want to be on a good team. Firms are growing and acquiring other firms every day. What you say is out in the world and can’t be hidden. Barriers are being continually broken.
It allows you to weed out the frauds and follow the people that are continually trying to give the best information, guidance, and knowledge that they can. So when things are rough, they know who is there for them.
Why Ryan believes it’s important to be active on social media
Ryan is one of the few Chief Marketing Strategists that is active on social media. He thinks it’s fun to create interesting content. He takes complex matters and simplifies them. Every day there’s some scary headline. But maybe it isn’t as scary as it sounds. So Ryan shares what’s going on and whether or not it matters to the industry.
He shares that it’s a blast to take data and share a unique and refreshing look at what’s happened and what it could mean. He strives to look at history to show where we’ve been while also building a path ahead for the future.
